77 DAYS OF SKETCHES one lady's summer sketchblogEMMA MALLINEN

day fifteen: everything

Today I find myself with my hands full again. Score for today: several unfinished projects in progress, one awesome kick ass one finished.

The catch?

The finished one is TOP SECRET. It’s for Brian‘s birthday, so I’ll reveal it on June 30th’s post. It might be one of my favorite things I’ve made so far. LET THE ANTICIPATION BUILD!

On my unfinished projects front I have three to share today. The top sketch of the woman is my newest project to redesign a face card. I like the challenge of the card having to be reversible, and I was really inspired by the designs for JAQK wines I saw yesterday. Also I want to practice using Illustrator: I’ve realized that while I may kick ass at Photoshop I’m not nearly as fluid in Illustrator.

I’ve also got some more logos for Bored & Gorgeous as branding practice (below). In addition I started drawing packaging but quickly got frustrated so I might return to that later.

Aaaand last but not least I’m repairing an old foot stool. So far I’ve repainted it but I’m not happy with the design/colors so far so I’m going to continue tweaking.

Tomorrow I’m off to look at lots for our new summer cabin, run a few errands, and maybe even make a cocktail, who knows!

Ah, that stool is too cute. I bet your face card is going to be awesome. And I’m totally jittery with anticipation! It’ll be like a gift for Brian (almost wrote brain) AND a coming back to the US incentive for me, since I fly to D.C. on the 30th. Woop woop. <3
